Because our first meet is a few days away, practice will end early at 5:00 tomorrow instead of 5:30. This will give your daughters plenty of time to rest & relax before race day!

Hello Middle School Cross Country Families!
Thanks for a wonderful start to the season! Coach Sieracki & I are thrilled to be coaching your girls this season and have been very impressed by what we have seen so far. As school is right around the corner, there are a few important reminders we have for this upcoming week.
We will be meeting at a new time for practice this week. Plan on meeting @ WHS from 3:30 - 5:30. This will be our last week practicing at the high school.
Our girls will be running in the Orono Twilight Meet Wednesday evening. All girls will be expected to meet at the high school around 4:30. Busses will leave at 4:45.
RACE LOGISITCS:
Meet location: Orono High School
All middle school athletes will compete in the 2 mile race
The 2 mile race will begin @ 6:25
There will be no practice on Friday, as well as the following Monday for labor day. Enjoy the last long weekend of summer! Make sure your runners are getting in a few runs over the weekend to stay on track!
SUMMER 2019 DISTANCE RUNNING CAMP
Who: Incoming 7-12th grade female athletes
What: Build a solid fitness foundation while learning what it takes to become a successful distance runner through long runs, quality workouts, strides, core, strength and stretching/yoga. New friendships with potential teammates, coaches and other runners will be formed through fun team building activities and a community service project - trail maintenance.
Why: Be part of something great! The Wayzata Girls Cross Country Team believes their success begins with a solid foundation built by training together in the summer. Historic state championships won in 2012-2014, 2017 as well a National Championship in 2013 proves that summer training is fundamental and fun!
When: Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 8:30 - 10:30 AM
Starts Monday June 17 - Ends Friday July 26 (No camp July 1-5)
Where: Wayzata High School. Weather permitting; we meet at the outdoor basketball courts next to the community playground. *Please bring your own water bottle daily & leave valuables at home.
How: Mail a $100 check & registration form to Coach Kelsey Engel. Fee covers a training, camp t-shirt and fresh fruit.
***Please note that girls’ and boys’ registration is separate!

Monday 10/22 Last day of practice! Carb-up celebration, wrapping up the season, and revealing our running buddies. If your daughter has not contributed $6 please send it to the meet tomorrow.

MEA Practice Schedule
It is very important to run over MEA! If you do not, the race on Tuesday will be tough. Our middle school team will not be having official practice but you are welcome to join the high school team for their MEA practice schedule (check Dave’s emails). You can ask a parent to run with you or ride a bike next to you to keep you company. You can also call a teammate if you are in town. Running is more fun when you have company!
