Two meets this week. Each cross country athlete signed up for the one they are participating in. They will only be running in one of the two meets this week.

Race date: Monday, Oct 4:

  • Athletes out of school at 2:05 bus leaves @ 2:15 (Central Bus Only) Bus will return to WHS for pick up after race.

  • Location: St. Michael Rec. Center 3150 Lander Ave. NE, St. Michael MN 55376

  • Race time: 4:10 (both 8th & 7th grade)

  • Distance: 5k

  • Please do an easy pre-meet run on your own Sunday. (20 mins with strides)

Race date: Thurs, Oct 7:  

  • Athletes out 3:10/bus leaves @ 3:20 (Central Bus Only) bus returns to Central for pick up after race.

  • Location: Hopkins West Junior High School - 3830 Baker Rd, Minnetonka, MN 55305

  • Race Time: 8th Girls 4:50 PM, 7th Girls 5:30 PM

  • Distance: 1.5 Mile

As you may have noticed we have another packed week of races. Girls can either run in one 5k or they will run in the next two middle school meets.

STMA MEET:

- Monday, October 4 @ 3:45PM MS Girls

This is a 5k option for our girls' team. They will get exposure to longer races & the Wayzata High School team will be there. They will be racing with girls in their own grade at this meet. This would be another great experience and want the challenge of a longer distance race.

Girls will run the next two Middle School Races:

MIDDLE SCHOOL MEETS:

- Thursday, September 30 @ 4:30PM

- Thursday, October 7 @ 4:30PM

(both 2 miles)

 It was great to see our athletes in their individual grade-level races last week. We have our next meet on Thursday at Bassett Creek Park in Crystal.  Some details are below and requests for help.

The athletic director informed me that the bus company will not be able to get buses for East and West students for our meets because they are very short on drivers. 

To ensure that we can get our East and West kids to the meet Thursday and in the future - please let me know if you can drive your East or West kid and possibly other kids from East or West to the meet. We most likely will need this for the rest of our meets this year (Central kids will have a bus to transport them to meets).

  • We have 14 kids from West.

  • We have 12 kids from East.

  • Central parents (if needed) - if you think you could help transport East or West kids as well, thank you for considering.

  • Kids can carpool with other parents.

  • If kids carpool, please send an email saying that you give permission for your kid to ride with someone else or send a note to practice tomorrow. 

  • Masking is required in the carpool.

  • Thurs, Sept 30:  kids out of school at 3:10/cars would leave at 3:20 from the lower bus parking lot at East and the main lot(west side) of West

What an incredible week! Both the Eden Prairie and Milaca meet was an absolute blast! It has been so fun to watch our girls improve and grow throughout the season.
